From 13 October 2025, members will be able to manage beneficiaries online.
We're making it easier to manage beneficiaries online
Members will soon be able to use Member Online or the app to tell us who should inherit their super. This means they can make and update a binding death nomination online (no paper forms!)
What's a binding death benefit nomination?
A binding death benefit nomination is a legal document that names the person or people who get/s your super and any insurance payout when you die. A person you nominate is called a beneficiary. Only certain people can become beneficiaries.
What's changing from 13 October 2025?
Add and update beneficiaries online
Log in to Member Online or the app to make a binding death benefit nomination and/or update it.
Set your nomination to never expire
Set your nomination to never expire, or to expire every 3 years.
We'll still regularly remind you to check it's up to date.
One nomination per ART member
One nomination* will cover all your eligible super.1
This change only affects members with multiple ART super accounts.
*You can still nominate multiple people to inherit your super as part of a binding nomination. This change only affects members that have multiple super accounts (and multiple nominations) with us. If you have a QSuper account, this can have a separate binding nomination.
What this means for you
It's easier for you to tell us who gets your super when you die
Your super doesn't automatically form part of your estate or will. To tell us who we should pay your super and any insurance payout (death benefit) to when you die, you need to make a binding death benefit nomination.
These changes make it easier to make and update a binding death benefit nomination online.
Your entire nomination needs to be valid at the time of your death for us to pay it, so it's important to keep it up to date.
Make or update a binding nomination online
In the meantime, you can still make or update a binding nomination. To do that, you can start the form in Member Online and send it to us. Or you can download and complete this form.
From 13 October 2025, members will be able to manage your beneficiaries in Member Online or the app.
