ART supports financial advisers during market volatility
Media release - 27 March 2026
Australian Retirement Trust is hosting hundreds of financial advisers at events in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this week, to provide an update on its investment approach as global markets face ongoing volatility.
ART’s Chief Economist Brian Parker said the Fund remains committed to a long-term investment approach which delivers the best possible outcome for members.
“Markets have been highly volatile over the past month, with significant daily ups and downs, but our focus remains on the long-term,” Mr Parker said.
“Despite short-term fluctuations, we believe long-term market value remains stable.
“We haven't had anything significantly impact what we think markets are worth if we're looking forward 10 years.
“We regularly engage with our members to discuss the importance of investment horizon, emphasising that patience and a long-term perspective are among our core strengths.
“We want our members and network of advisers to understand this investment approach and how we’re dealing with the current volatility.”
ART’s General Manager - Advice Licensee Services Evan Poole said times of uncertainty reiterate the importance of financial advice for members.
“Our research shows us that members who are more engaged with their super, and receive financial advice have better retirement outcomes,” Mr Poole said.
“This is even more important during times of market volatility and uncertainty, as members may feel under more pressure to make changes and alter their course.
“As a Fund, ART works hard to provide education to our more than 2.4 million members, and support them to make the best decisions possible for their retirement.
“But we also know the important role our network of more than 6,000 external financial advisers play in supporting our members.
“It’s why we host events such as the adviser roadshows happening this week, along with others right across the country, to help keep our network of financial advisers well informed about our investment approach, especially during times of volatility.”
The events are taking place in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane between March 25 – 27, 2026.
