Choosing the right super investment options for you

Learn more about our investment options and how they can best suit your retirement goals and how much risk you're comfortable with.

Lifecycle Investment Strategy

This is our default investment option for Accumulation accounts, and we've designed it so you don't have to do anything. With our Lifecycle Investment Strategy, we automatically change your investments based on your age, helping you get the most out of your super at every stage of life.

  • Suited for your life stage

When you’re younger and trying to grow your balance, we’ll automatically aim for growth. When you’re nearing retirement, we gradually switch you to a more stable strategy that protects your hard-earned savings.

  • Leave the hard work to us

Until you turn 50, we invest your super in the High Growth Pool to grow over the long term. From age 50 onwards, we'll gradually transfer your super to our lower-risk options – the Balanced Pool and Cash Pool.

Diversified options

If you want more control over your investment strategy, we have multi-asset investment options that you can choose from. They offer diversification by investing in a few different asset classes (like shares, infrastructure, and fixed income) at once.

Will these suit me?

If you'd like a bit more control over where your super is invested, our diversified options may suit you. Choose to invest in one or more of the options we've designed and manage for you.

Managed by experts

Our diversified options are managed by a team of qualified professionals and can give you the confidence to choose your own investment strategy.

  1. Past performance isn't a reliable indicator of future performance. Investment returns are the compound annualised return, and are net of investment fees and costs, transaction costs, and investment taxes. Returns shown are for Accumulation accounts. The investment options (with the exception of Balanced Risk-Adjusted and High Growth Index) commenced on 28 February 2022 and adopted the investment strategy of the pre-merger Sunsuper investment options. To show the investment performance for these investment options, we have used the returns for the respective Sunsuper investment options up to 28 February 2022, then the respective Super Savings option returns after that date. The Balanced Risk-Adjusted and High Growth Index options became available to Super Savings account holders from 1 July 2024.
  2. This risk level is based on the standard risk measure (SRM).
  3. The Balanced Risk-Adjusted option was introduced to Super Savings account holders on 1 July 2024 and adopts the performance history of the QSuper Balanced option. For periods up to 30 June 2024, investment returns for this option are net of administration fees and costs, investment fees and costs, transaction costs and where applicable, investment taxes. From 1 July 2024 investment performance is net of investment fees and costs, transaction costs and where applicable, investment taxes, but gross of administration fees and costs. You should consider this when comparing returns between options. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
  4. The Listed Property Index commenced on 1 July 2024 and adopted the performance history of the Super Savings Australian Property Index option.
