Personal Information Collection Notice

Australian Retirement Trust* collects personal information for the purpose of providing superannuation and related products and services to members and their employers.

Employer contact details that we collect help us facilitate the payment of members’ super, let us keep employers up to date regarding product and legislative changes, and allow us to inform employers about the products and services that we offer. Australian Retirement Trust will normally only use employer contact details for these purposes. If Australian Retirement Trust did not collect employer contact details we may be unable to allocate certain contributions (for example, in the event of an error or discrepancy), and we would be unable to keep employers informed about products and industry developments that we think might interest them.

We collect your personal information from you directly whenever it is reasonable and practical to do so. Where it is not reasonable or practical for us to do so, such as where we are missing contact details or the contact details we hold are out of date, we may collect your information from a third party contracted to provide this service to Australian Retirement Trust. If you have been directed to this Personal information collection notice, we have collected your personal information from such a third party. You will have received an email from Australian Retirement Trust asking you to confirm the accuracy of the personal information we received from the third party. We will not update our records with this information unless you confirm the information is accurate. If you do not confirm that the information is accurate it will be deleted or permanently de-identified.

Australian Retirement Trust does not normally disclose information about members or employers to parties outside the Australian Retirement Trust group, except parties contracted to provide services to Australian Retirement Trust. This includes but is not limited to the Fund’s administration service provider, insurer, auditors and legal advisers.

Australian Retirement Trust also might be required by law to disclose personal information, for example to Government bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office. We may disclose information to relevant overseas bodies in various countries, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy, available at australianretirementtrust.com.au/privacy, sets out how you can access any personal information we may hold about you and correct any information which is inaccurate or out-of-date. Our Privacy Policy also includes information on our privacy complaints process.
